The Giving Heart- Charitable Donations and Community Service
68
This week our big-hearted HubMobsters have used their talents to bring attention to charitable donations and community service. Many of our hubbers were particularly eager to shed light on the devastation of the Haiti earthquake. The Haiti disaster was named along with Hurricane Katrina and the Indian Ocean tsunami of 2004 as the three worst natural disasters of the last 10 years.
MubMobsters have delivered informative and heart-felt hubs about Haiti. Mobsters have not only generated hubs that shed light on ways to help Haiti, but how to research to avoid sending money to scam artists.
Disaster relief of course is but one of thousands of charities you can make donations to. There are charities related to a myriad of medical conditions, children’s charities, women’s issues, animal protection, human rights. The list goes on and on.
Many charities have no doubt suffered in this troubled economy. Community Service, such as volunteerism is another way to give your support to causes that are important to you. Children and families can often volunteer together to support causes.
Please see also, our second roundup of hubs in The Giving Heart II- Charitable Donations and Community Service.

Every Monday on HubPages, Princessa releases a new topic for the week. Topics are timely before holidays, relevant to world events, uniquely interesting &/or just plain fun. You can always find the weekly HubMob topic on a forum thread, always at the top of the Hubber’s Hangout. To become a HubMobster, just start a hub from Princessa’s link. Princessa’s forum post includes other key tips for writing and publishing a successful HubMob hub. She has also provided helpful information in these two hubs:

How to Write a HubMob Hub: Answering the request, adding the HubMob graphic and the RSS feed
For the last year Shirley Anderson has compiled the weekly HubMob roundup hub. That means collecting all of the HubMob hubs written each week and conveniently linking to them in a roundup hub. Shirley found herself too busy with her freelance work to continue rounding up our HubMob hubs. She has promised to drop in on us and join in on the HubMob weekly topic when possible. Shirley will continue to write hubs, and remains on the HubNuggets team.
I have taken on the task of putting together the weekly HubMob roundup hub. Read more about me at rmcrayne.
